Gwen Jenkins, our membership secretary will be stepping down after 8 years as on 1st July
2024. As a club, we would like to thank her very much for all the work she has done. Thank you
Gwen.

Gwen has decided to help Velindre Cancer Centre and signed up to one of their toughest
Ultimate Challenges, which is trekking through the rugged wilderness of Patagonia in November
2025.  There will be steep climbs and descents and trails will vary from rocky, dusty tracks to muddy
boggy areas. On some days Gwen will be walking up to 11hrs a day.  The trek will take them to Craig Goch to celebrate the 160th anniversary of the journey made by our Welsh ancestors.

Gwen has set herself a challenge to raise a minimum of £7,000, we all know family, friends and
loved ones who have been touched by cancer and she has just under a year and a half to get fit
for the trek. These endeavour's not only will prepare her physically, but also show her
unwavering commitment to the cause and fundraising effort.
