The result of this game was never in doubt from the second minute onwards for that is how long it took Aber to open the scoring against a Tenby team that defended manfully but were unable to cope with Aber’s slick offloading and aggressive all-round game. Both backs and forwards combined skilfully to carry hard, support enthusiastically to maintain continuity of attacks until eventually Tenby ran out of defenders and Aber succeeded in scoring eleven tries, five of which were converted. Indeed, it could be argued that Aber could have scored more tries were it not for some ill-advised or careless passes out of contact which did not go to hand when a little more patience by ball-carriers ensuring ball retention would have borne greater rewards. This smacks of knit-picking maybe after such a comprehensive all team performance but there are still things that can be improved upon even after such an exhibition.

Aber scored regularly through the game with six tries scored in the first half and five tries in the second. The majority of tries were scored after prolonged periods of possession by Aber showing a great willingness by support runners to maintain continuity of attacks which stretched a very game defence to breaking point. Tries were scored in the first half by Charles Thomas, Dylan Evans, Ian Ellis, Dan Binks, Osian Canney and Lee Evans. Second half tries were scored by Carwyn Evans, Ian Ellis, Jack Jones, Will Caron and Jack Jones.

There were some notable performances with Man of the Match Dan Binks prominent throughout the game for his strong and determined carrying which took on occasion three or four tacklers to drag him down, while Will Caron showed a fine turn of speed to race in from almost half-way to score a very good try. This was a very pleasing result for Aber with four wins out of four in the WRU Plate District H1 competition.
